RE: Free event – CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS

Date of event – December 20, 2014

Event focuses on “The Gift That Changed the World” and showing children ways they can give back to their community this Christmas

Bethany Lutheran Church and Columbia Lutheran School presents their annual free Christmas event for children on Saturday, December 20th, 9:30 am to 12:45 pm. Christmas for Kids is a one-day Vacation Bible

School for children ages four to ten. This year the event will focus on “The Gift That Changed the World”, the gift of baby Jesus and ways the children can give back to their community. During craft time children will make fleece lap robes for the Veterans Home in The Dalles and create Christmas cards that will be shared with local care centers. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item for the local food bank as part of the “giving back to the community” focus.

Parents will appreciate the “day-out” time for shopping, and Christmas preparations, while their children attend a safe, entertaining event. Pre-registration is requested by going on line at www.BethanytheDalles.org or www.ColumbiaLutheranSchool.org or by calling 541–298–8385. Registration will also be accepted at the door at the 9:30 am start time. Activities will include songs, cookie decorating, crafts, games and hearing the story of Christ’s birth. Lunch will be provided and each child will receive a gift.

This free event is sponsored by Bethany Lutheran Church and Columbia Lutheran School, located at the corner of Thompson and East 12th streets, 2323 East 12th Street, The Dalles. Partial funding is provided by Thrivent Action Teams. For more information, call Pastor Jesse Jacobsen at 541–298–8385.
