|7 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. |

- Is there a sibling discount?
Yes! After the first child in a household, additional siblings each receive a $5 discount.
- Can parents attend?
Yes! Parents are welcome to attend the Early Midnight and Midnight parties with their child, at no charge.
- When and where is the event?
The event will be held at Fun Jumpers beginning December 31, 2017, and ending January 1, 2018. Fun Jumpers is located at 416 Cherry Heights Rd., The Dalles, Oregon. The event is hosted by the Boosters of Columbia Lutheran School (2323 E. 12th St., The Dalles, OR, 541–298–8385, firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Why are you holding the event?
Proceeds from the event will go to the Columbia Lutheran School Scholarship Fund. The school’s Boosters group wanted to sponsor a child-friendly activity that would also have the potential to help out parents—if they wanted a New Year’s Eve event to attend with their child, or if they needed reliable, secure child care so they could attend an adult event on their own.
- What will my child do during the party?
The party options will include using indoor bounce houses, midnight celebration activities, family-friendly movies, healthy snacks, arts/crafts, and more.
- How will you make this event secure?
Children will be dropped off and picked up only during pre-arranged times. At all other times, the event facility will be closed and locked, with the door monitored. The ratio of event volunteers to children will be limited to a maximum of 10-to-1. Children will only be released to the authorized pick-up person(s) listed on their registration sheet. All persons will be required to show photo identification at the time of pick up. It is event policy to not allow anyone to pick up your child if staff suspect that person is driving while impaired. If this occurs, staff will call the alternate driver listed on the child’s registration form. The alternate driver must pick up the child within 15 minutes; after this, a child care cost of $5 per 15 minutes will be charged to the parent/guardian.
- When may I drop off and pick up my child?
Drop-off—Children should be dropped off between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. Doors will be locked at 7:15 p.m.
Early Midnight Pick-up—Children participating in the Early Midnight party should be picked up at 10:00 p.m.
Midnight Pick-up—Children participating in the Midnight party should be picked up at 12:30 a.m.
If an alternate pick-up time is needed, a request can be sent to email@example.com. To be allowed into the facility at a time other than listed, a cell phone number will be posted at the door of Fun Jumpers.
- What if my child wants to come home early?
Event volunteers will acknowledge your child’s feelings about the situation, talk with your child to remind them of the time when their parent is scheduled to pick them up, and help to redirect them to an activity to keep them occupied. If you feel your child will not be comfortable at the party, consider attending the Early Midnight or Midnight party option along with your child. If the child is unable to be comforted/distracted, event volunteers will contact the parent/guardian listed on the registration form. Please note that there are no refunds for a child who does not stay for the entire registered time.
- What is the ratio of adults to children?
The ratio of event volunteers to children will be limited to a maximum of 10-to-1.
- What food will be offered?
Both parties will include healthy snacks and beverages (e.g., fruits, vegetables, popcorn, water). There will be no sweetened desserts, candy, or juice.
- Will my child get to celebrate “midnight”?
Yes! We will hold a midnight celebration with special activities at 9 p.m. local time (but midnight elsewhere!), and with a second, slightly different midnight celebration at midnight local time.
- What if my child gets tired? Will my child be awake the entire time?
A quiet space with cots will be available at the event. Younger children, particularly those staying for the longer party, will be encouraged to use the space and rest as needed.
- What if my child takes medication?
We will be unable to store or administer medication.
- What should my child wear?
Children are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the time of year. Even though it is a party, it will be an active one, so dress-up party clothes are not necessary. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants can help prevent participants from getting friction burns while using the bounce houses. Socks must be worn while using the bounce houses.
- What should my child bring?
Those attending only need to bring themselves! We’ll supply the fun!
- Do I need to pre-register? Why?
Pre-registration guarantees your child a space at the event and allows us to adequately plan for food, game items, etc. Space at the parties is limited. If all spaces are filled, we will have a waiting list.
On-site registration on New Year’s Eve is permitted, but we cannot guarantee that there will be space for your child to attend.
- How do I register?
To register, either pick up a registration packet at Columbia Lutheran School, 2323 E. 12th St., The Dalles, OR, or download the packet at www.ColumbiaLutheranSchool.org/Boosters/KidsKountdown. Fill out the registration packet, then mail or drop it off with your payment (cash or checks made payable to Columbia Lutheran School) at the school (call 541–298–8385 ahead of time to arrange a drop off time since the school is on Christmas break through January 3.
In addition, parents/guardians need to fill out a Fun Jumpers waiver online (https://www.smartwaiver.com/w/57dc6c1b1c674/web/) for anyone attending the party.
- Is my money refundable?
Cancellations until December 29 are eligible for a full refund minus a $5 fee. Cancellations after that time will be considered on a case by case basis, such as in the case of illness.
